It automatically starts the generator and switches the load over in the event of a mains power failure.
Operates on 230/400 V networks, supports power up to 41.5 kW and a maximum current of 63 A.
Features a built-in 3 A battery, 8-pin connection, summer and winter heating modes, a voltmeter, status indicator lights and a housing measuring 430×195×393 mm.
The Könner & Söhnen KS ATS 4/63D-Inverter automatic transfer switch is designed to automatically start a compatible generator and switch the load to the backup power source in the event of a power cut in the mains supply. This is a convenient solution for providing backup power to a home, utility room, workshop, commercial premises or other system where a stable power supply is essential without the need for constant manual intervention.
The model supports operation with 230 V and 400 V networks. The rated power is 14.5 kW for the 230 V mode and 41.5 kW for the 400 V mode, with a maximum current of 63 A. Thanks to these parameters, the KS ATS 4/63D-Inverter is suitable for building a sufficiently powerful automatic backup power system with a three-phase generator connected.
In automatic mode, the unit monitors the presence of the main power supply and, if it fails, starts the generator after 10±1 seconds. Once the generator has started, the system transfers the load to the backup power source after 30 seconds. In the event of a failed start, the ATS makes 3 start attempts, after which it issues an error signal. Once mains power is restored, the load returns to the main source with a 60-second delay, and the generator also stops with a delay of 60±1 seconds.
This model features summer and winter operating modes. The warm-up time for the air preheating system is 0 seconds in summer mode and 15 seconds in winter mode. This helps adapt the system’s operation to seasonal conditions and ensures more reliable generator start-up during the colder months.
The front panel features heating buttons, a voltmeter, indicator lights for mains power supply, generator power supply, errors and automatic operating mode, as well as an ATS unit switch and a generator emergency stop button. This configuration makes system control more convenient and intuitive.
The unit automatically charges the battery, and the maximum charging current from the built-in power supply is 3 A. An 8-pin connector is used to connect to the generator, and the control cable is 3 m long. The power connection is made via a terminal block for the mains, load and generator, with separate terminals L1, L2, L3, N and PE.
The KS ATS 4/63D-Inverter has an IP21 protection rating, insulation class F, and is designed to operate in a temperature range of -10°C to +50°C at humidity levels up to 60%. The storage temperature range is from -10°C to +70°C. The unit’s dimensions are 430×195×393 mm (net), and it weighs 9.3 kg, making it suitable for fixed installation in backup power supply systems.
