The Könner & Söhnen KS ATS 4/63HD automatic transfer switch is designed to automatically start a compatible generator and switch the load to the backup power source in the event of a power cut in the mains supply. This is a practical solution for homes, commercial premises, workshops, technical rooms or other systems where it is important to maintain power to critical loads without constant manual supervision.

The model supports operation with 230 V and 400 V networks, making it versatile for various backup power supply configurations. For the 230 V mode, the rated power is 14.4 kW with a peak value of 28.8 kW and a current of 63 A with a maximum value of 120 A. For the 400 V mode, the unit is rated for 34.8 kW at a maximum current of 63 A. Thanks to these parameters, the KS ATS 4/63HD is suitable for more powerful backup power systems.

The unit operates in both automatic and manual modes. In automatic mode, the system continuously monitors the presence of voltage from the main source. In the event of a power failure, the ATS automatically starts the generator after 12 seconds, and 6 seconds after it begins operating, switches the load to the backup power supply. In the event of a failed start, the system performs 3 start attempts at 6-second intervals, after which it issues an error signal.

One of the model’s key features is a motorised 230 V / 400 V switch, as well as a programmable controller that allows you to configure the main operating parameters. These include the start-up delay time following a power failure, the generator warm-up time before connecting the load, the delay time for returning the load to the main power supply, and other basic system operating parameters.

To monitor the unit’s status, the front panel features indicator lights for mains power supply, load connection and generator power. The model is also equipped with a main switch, a fuse and a generator emergency stop button, making operation more intuitive and safe.

The KS ATS 4/63HD automatically charges the battery, with a maximum charging current of 2 A from the built-in power supply unit. A 6-pin connector is used to connect to the generator, and the control cable is 4.4 m long. The generator must be fitted with a special connector for operation with the ATS.

The model has an IP41 protection rating and is designed to operate in a temperature range of -20°C to +50°C at a humidity of 20–90%. The storage temperature range is from -30°C to +70°C. The housing, measuring 400×320×190 mm and weighing 8.4 kg, is suitable for fixed installation in backup power supply systems.
