TheKönner & Söhnen KS 50-3BES is a powerful three-phase diesel generator from the Heavy Duty Silent Diesel Generator series, designed to provide a stable backup power supply for facilities with a 230/400 V mains supply. The model delivers 36 kW of rated power and 40 kW of maximum power, making it suitable for commercial premises, private homes with three-phase supply, industrial sites, warehouses, service centres, pumping equipment, engineering systems and other critical loads.
The power station is equipped with a water-cooled 4-cylinder 4M06G50/5 diesel engine. The engine operates at a low speed of 1500 rpm, which is important for stable operation under load, reduced wear on key components and better suitability for longer operating cycles. The engine’s output power is 44 kW / 59 hp, and its displacement is 2,300 cm³.
The model features an electronic engine speed control system, which helps maintain stable operating parameters when the load changes. This is particularly important for three-phase loads, electric motors, compressors, pumps, ventilation systems, automation and other equipment requiring a reliable power source.
An AVR regulator is provided to stabilise the output voltage. It helps reduce voltage fluctuations and ensures safer operation of connected devices. When operating with a three-phase load, it is important to distribute the loads evenly across the phases so that the power station operates stably and without overload.
Control is implemented via a Datakom D300 controller with a graphical LCD display. It allows monitoring of the power station’s operating parameters, start-up modes, warnings, fault conditions and system operation. This controller is convenient for both day-to-day operation and maintenance.
The KS 50-3BES supports the connection of an ATS, so it can be used in automatic backup power supply systems. When fitted with the appropriate automation unit, the power station can start up in the event of a mains power failure and supply electricity to critical loads without manual intervention.
The power station is equipped with an 85 Ah starter battery and has a built-in battery charger. The battery is used for electric starting and to power the generator control system. In automatic start-up mode, the battery is recharged by the built-in charger, and during prolonged downtime it is recommended to periodically recharge it using an external charger.
The housing is designed as a noise-proof, moisture-proof, metal, all-weather and vandal-proof enclosure. Electroplating and powder coating are used for additional resistance to external influences. The protection rating is IP54, making the model well-suited for fixed installation provided requirements for ventilation, foundation, earthing and protection against weather conditions are met.
The 80-litre fuel tank ensures long-lasting autonomous operation. With a fuel consumption of 4.43 l/h at 50% load, the estimated running time at 100% load is approximately 9 hours. If the generator is used as the primary power source, the continuous load should not exceed 80% of the rated power.
The Könner & Söhnen KS 50-3BES is a practical solution for sites requiring a powerful three-phase diesel generator with performance reserves, water cooling, AVR, electronic speed control, AVR support, a starter battery and a robust, protected housing.
