Könner & Söhnen KS 35-3BES diesel generator

TheKönner & Söhnen KS 35-3BES is a three-phase diesel generator from the Heavy Duty Silent Diesel Generator series, designed to provide a stable backup power supply for facilities requiring a reliable 230/400 V power supply. The model delivers 25.6 kW of rated power and 28 kW of maximum power, making it suitable for private homes with a three-phase supply, commercial premises, warehouses, workshops, service areas, small production sites, pumping equipment and engineering systems.

The power station is based on a 4-cylinder, water-cooled 4M06G35/5 diesel engine. The engine operates at 1,500 rpm, which is important for smooth operation, reduced wear and tear, and a stable power supply during longer operating cycles. Its output power is 30 kW / 40 hp, and its displacement is 2,300 cm³.

Unlike the KS 35-3BE version, the KS 35-3BES variant has larger dimensions and a bigger fuel tank – 80 litres. This makes the model more suitable for longer periods of autonomous operation without frequent refuelling. With a fuel consumption of 3.43 l/h at 50% load, the estimated running time at 100% load is approximately 11.7 hours.

The electronic engine speed control system helps maintain stable generator operation when the load changes. This is particularly important for three-phase loads, electric motors, pumps, compressors, automated systems, lighting and equipment requiring predictable power supply parameters.

To stabilise the voltage, the power station is equipped with an AVR regulator. It helps to reduce fluctuations in the output voltage and ensures safer operation of connected loads. With the correct load distribution across the phases, the KS 35-3BES can operate effectively as a powerful backup power source for facilities with a three-phase network.

Control is carried out via the Datakom D300 controller with a graphical LCD display. It allows monitoring of the power station’s operating parameters, start-up modes, warnings and fault conditions. This control format simplifies the operation, diagnostics and maintenance of the generator.

The model is capable of connecting to an ATS, so it can be used in automatic backup power supply systems. When fitted with the appropriate control unit, the power station can start up in the event of a mains power failure and supply electricity to critical loads without manual intervention.

The power station’s enclosure is designed as a noise-insulated, moisture-proof, metal, all-weather and vandal-proof housing. It features a galvanised coating and powder coating, which enhances resistance to external influences. The IP54 protection rating makes the model suitable for permanent installation, provided requirements for ventilation, foundations, earthing and protection against weather conditions are met.
