TheKönner & Söhnen KS 50-3BE is a powerful three-phase diesel generator designed to provide backup power for facilities requiring a stable 230/400 V power supply. The model delivers 36 kW of rated power and 40 kW of maximum power, making it well-suited for private homes with three-phase supply, commercial premises, warehouses, workshops, service centres, small production sites, pumping systems and other critical equipment.
The power station is based on a water-cooled 4-cylinder 4M06G50/5 diesel engine. The engine operates at 1,500 rpm, which is important for stable operation under load, reduced wear on key components, and better suitability for longer operating cycles. The engine’s output power is 44 kW / 59 hp, and its displacement is 2,300 cm³.
The model is equipped with an electronic engine speed control system. It helps maintain a stable frequency and smooth operation of the generator when the load changes. This is particularly important for three-phase loads, electric motors, pumps, compressors, ventilation systems, automation and equipment requiring a reliable power source.
An AVR regulator is responsible for stabilising the output voltage. It helps to reduce voltage fluctuations and ensures a more stable power supply to connected loads. When using a three-phase power station, it is important to distribute the load correctly across the phases to avoid imbalance and overload.
Control is implemented via a Datakom D300 controller with a graphical LCD display. The controller allows monitoring of the power station’s operating parameters, start-up modes, warnings and fault conditions. This simplifies the operation, maintenance and monitoring of the generator.
The KS 50-3BE is capable of connecting to an ATS, so it can be used as part of an automatic backup power supply system. When fitted with the appropriate automation, the power station can start up in the event of a mains power failure and supply power to critical loads without manual intervention.
The power station is equipped with an 85 Ah starter battery and has a built-in battery charger. The battery is used for electric starting and to power the generator control system. In automatic start mode, the battery is recharged by the built-in charger.
The power station’s housing is designed as a noise-insulated, moisture-proof, metal, all-weather and vandal-proof enclosure. Galvanised coating and powder coating are used for additional resistance to external influences. The IP54 protection rating makes the model a practical solution for permanent installation, provided requirements for ventilation, foundations, earthing and protection against weather conditions are met.
The 78-litre fuel tank ensures long-lasting autonomous operation. With a fuel consumption of 4.43 l/h at 50% load, the estimated running time at 100% load is approximately 8.8 hours. If the generator is used as the primary power source, the continuous load should not exceed 80% of the rated power.
The Könner & Söhnen KS 50-3BE is a reliable solution for sites requiring a three-phase diesel generator set with a power output of 36–40 kW, water cooling, AVR, electronic speed control, the option to connect an ATS, a starter battery and a robust, protected housing.
