TheKönner & Söhnen KS 72-3BE is a powerful three-phase diesel generator from the Heavy Duty series, designed to provide a reliable backup power supply for large facilities, industrial sites, the agricultural sector, the construction industry, medical facilities, commercial premises and critical infrastructure. The model operates at 230/400 V and delivers 52 kW of rated power and 57.6 kW of maximum power.
The power station is based on a water-cooled Baudouin 4M10G70/5 4-cylinder diesel engine. Baudouin is a renowned French engine manufacturer with many years’ experience in developing reliable power units for professional use. The engine operates at a low speed of 1,500 rpm, which ensures stable operation under load, reduced wear and tear, and better suitability for long operating cycles.
The engine’s output power is 60 kW / 81 hp, and its displacement is 4087 cm³. Thanks to water cooling, the power station maintains a more stable temperature during operation, which is particularly important for high-power equipment and facilities with strict requirements for uninterrupted power supply.
The model is equipped with an electronic engine speed control system. This helps maintain a stable frequency and smooth operation of the generator when the load changes. This is important for three-phase loads, pumping stations, ventilation systems, compressors, production equipment, automation and engineering systems.
A pre-start warm-up function is provided to facilitate starting. It helps prepare the engine for start-up, which is particularly useful in cold weather or when operating in challenging conditions. This system enhances user convenience and ensures the power station is better prepared for a rapid start in an emergency.
Control is implemented via a Datakom D300 digital controller with a graphical LCD display. The controller allows monitoring of electrical parameters, engine parameters, operating modes, warnings and fault messages. This simplifies daily operation, generator condition monitoring and maintenance.
The KS 72-3BE is capable of connecting to an ATS, so it can operate as part of an automatic backup power supply system. When fitted with the appropriate control unit, the generator can start automatically following a mains power failure and supply power to critical loads without manual intervention.
The power station is equipped with a 100 Ah starter battery and has a built-in charging module. The battery is used to start the engine and power the control system. In standby and automatic start-up modes, the built-in charging module helps to keep the battery in working order.
The power station’s housing is designed as a noise-insulated, moisture-proof, metal, all-weather and vandal-proof enclosure. Additional protection is provided by a galvanised coating, which increases the corrosion resistance of the metal components. The noise level is 72/97 dB LpA (7 m)/LwA, which is important for permanent installation at sites where acoustic noise levels need to be reduced.
The 170-litre fuel tank ensures long-lasting autonomous operation. With a fuel consumption of 6.64 l/h at 50% load, the estimated operating time at 100% load is approximately 12.8 hours. When using the power station as the primary power source, the continuous load should not exceed 80% of the rated power.
TheKönner & Söhnen KS 72-3BE is a professional solution for sites requiring a powerful three-phase diesel generator set featuring a Baudouin engine, water cooling, electronic speed control, pre-start heating, ATS connection, digital control and a soundproof enclosure.
