Anker SOLIX AS200 Alternator Charger – 800 W charging whilst driving

The Anker SOLIX AS200 Alternator Charger is a practical solution for anyone who wants to charge their power station on the move using more than just a mains socket or solar panel. The device utilises surplus energy from the vehicle’s alternator to charge compatible Anker SOLIX power stations at up to 800 W whilst driving.

This is particularly useful for campers, tradespeople, travellers and anyone who drives long distances and wants to top up their mobile power supply whilst on the move. Instead of having to search for a socket once you reach your destination, the power station can start charging whilst you’re driving, so it’s ready later to power a cool box, lights, laptop, tools, router or other devices.

Up to 800 W charging power via the alternator

The AS200 charges significantly faster than a standard 12 V car charging cable. According to the product specifications, a compatible power station can be charged up to 8 times faster than via a standard 12 V vehicle socket. For the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2, a charging time of approximately 3 hours is specified for a charge level ranging from 0% to 100%.

Intelligent protection for the vehicle battery and alternator

The system monitors the voltage of the starter battery and alternator. It uses only the available power reserve, thereby reducing the risk of over-discharging the vehicle battery or placing an unnecessary strain on the vehicle’s electrical system. The thresholds can be configured in the app, for example with 13 V or 26 V as the default value.

Bidirectional charging for greater flexibility

The Anker SOLIX AS200 operates in two directions. In normal Charging Mode, it charges the power station via the vehicle’s alternator. In Reverse Charging Mode, energy can be fed back from the power station to the vehicle battery. This can be useful as a stopgap solution if the starter battery needs boosting.

Suitable for 12 V and 24 V vehicles

The device is designed for many vehicles with a 12 V or 24 V electrical system, such as cars, vans, motorhomes and campervans. Various battery types are supported, such as FLD, GEL, AGM, calcium-lead-acid and LFP. According to the product specifications, the AS200 is not suitable for electric vehicles.

Control via the Anker app

The alternator charger can be connected to the Anker app via Bluetooth Low Energy. From there, you can control operating modes, set thresholds, carry out OTA updates and monitor operating data in real time. Features such as Auto-Start Charging, Dual-Mode Switch and Remote Power Management make everyday use more convenient.

Automatic energy-saving functions

After a period of inactivity, the device can automatically switch to standby mode. The AS200 also supports an automatic shut-off after 24 hours, although this time can be configured in the app. This reduces power consumption and enhances the safety of the installation.

Built for mobile use

The Anker SOLIX AS200 is designed for use across a range of temperatures. The specified operating temperature ranges from -20°C to 60°C, whilst the storage temperature ranges from -20°C to 85°C. This makes the device well-suited to vehicles used in summer heat, on winter trips or during longer journeys.

Important note regarding installation

The alternator charger is connected to the vehicle’s electrical system. Installation should therefore be carried out carefully and, ideally, by a qualified technician. Before purchasing, you should check whether the vehicle, battery, power station and required cables are suitable for the planned installation.
