The Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC is an AC-coupled storage inverter designed for households wishing to add a modern energy storage system to an existing solar installation. The system is particularly suitable for retrofit projects where existing micro-inverters or AC infrastructure are to be reused.
With an integrated storage capacity of 2520 Wh, the SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC stores surplus energy and makes it available again later. This means that solar power generated during the day can be used in the evening, at night or when household consumption is higher. This increases self-consumption and reduces the need to draw on expensive grid electricity.
The system has a modular design. Capacity can be expanded in stages using additional Jackery SolarVault 3 BP2500 battery modules. Up to five additional batteries can be added per tower, enabling capacity levels of 2.52 kWh, 5.04 kWh, 7.56 kWh, 10.08 kWh, 12.6 kWh and 15.12 kWh.
Inside, a long-lasting LiFePO4 battery is at work. This battery technology is known for its high safety, stable performance and long service life. The battery is rated for 6,000 charge cycles at a 90% depth of discharge and a minimum residual capacity of 70%. This means the SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC is designed for many years of regular domestic use.
The AC power output depends on the specific version and system configuration. Depending on the model, the unit supports 2500 W, 1500 W or 800 W of AC output power. With an additional battery connected, up to 2,500 W is possible via the AC socket; without an external battery, the internal battery delivers up to 1,600 W via this connection.
A key advantage is the AC socket function. When connected to the mains, this socket can provide up to 3680 W of bypass power. In the event of a mains power failure, the system can switch to battery operation in less than 20 ms and continue to supply suitable loads. This function serves as an emergency power supply, but does not replace a professional 0-ms UPS for particularly sensitive servers or workstations.
The SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC can also work in conjunction with existing micro-inverters. If a balcony power plant or a small PV system with a micro-inverter is already in place, the AC socket can be used for integration, provided that local regulations are complied with. This allows an existing system to be usefully expanded with a storage function.
For everyday use, the device offers several intelligent operating modes. In Self-Consumption Mode, stored solar energy is prioritised to reduce grid consumption. In Tariff Mode, the system can charge the battery when electricity tariffs are cheaper and supply energy at more expensive times. AI Smart Mode optimises operation based on electricity prices, weather data and consumption patterns.
Control is conveniently managed via the Jackery app. Operating data, battery level, power output, modes and settings can be monitored via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Ethernet. Ethernet is particularly useful when a stable wired connection is required or the Wi-Fi signal at the installation site is weak.
For added safety, the SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC features a battery management system, temperature monitoring, a pre-heating function for low temperatures and an integrated aerosol fire suppression system. The unit can automatically pre-heat its battery at low temperatures before the charging process begins.
The robust housing has an IP65 protection rating. This means the system is protected against dust and splashing water and is suitable for dry, well-ventilated installation areas such as utility rooms, garages, sheltered balconies, covered terraces or other suitable locations. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +55°C.
With dimensions of 485×248×282 mm and a weight of 25.5±0.5 kg, the battery-integrated inverter remains compact despite its power output. To ensure safe installation, the unit should be placed on a stable, level surface; for stacked systems, the base and wall mount can be used.
The Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC is a high-performance solution for households wishing to continue using their existing PV system whilst adding a modular storage unit. The system combines a base capacity of 2.52 kWh, scalability up to 15.12 kWh, LiFePO4 technology, AC coupling, app control, smart modes and robust safety features in a compact home storage system.
