The Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro is a state-of-the-art storage inverter for balcony power stations and domestic solar systems. It combines energy storage, an inverter, smart energy management and app control in a modular system. With a capacity of 2520 Wh, it stores surplus solar energy during the day and makes it available later in the evening, at night or when consumption is higher.
The system has been developed for households wishing to increase their self-consumption and reduce the amount of electricity they draw from the grid. During the day, solar power is preferably used directly or stored in the battery. When the sun is no longer shining or the electricity price rises, the SolarVault 3 Pro releases the stored energy back into the household. This allows the solar energy generated during the day to be utilised much more effectively.
A major advantage is the high-capacity PV input of up to 4000 W. The SolarVault 3 Pro features 4 MPPT inputs, with each PV input supporting up to 1000 W. This allows several solar panels to be integrated efficiently, and the system can make highly targeted use of the available solar energy.
With a bidirectional AC power rating of 1,200 W, the storage unit can absorb energy and feed it back into the household. According to the instructions, the output power is factory-set to 800 W. To increase this to 1200 W, installation by qualified personnel is required; the power can then be adjusted via the app.
The bypass power rating of up to 2300 W ensures that connected loads can be reliably supplied when needed. In grid-parallel operation, current from the PV and mains inputs can bypass the battery and be supplied directly via the off-grid inverter output. This conserves the battery and improves efficiency during periods of higher consumption.
The SolarVault 3 Pro is modular and expandable. The base capacity of 2.52 kWh can be expanded to 15.12 kWh per unit with up to five additional BP2500 batteries. In addition, up to three SolarVault 3 Pro systems can be operated in parallel. This enables total capacities of up to 45.36 kWh.
This scalability makes the system flexible: a compact configuration is sufficient for smaller households, whilst larger households or users with higher energy requirements can expand the system in stages. This is particularly useful for households with high evening consumption, home offices, heat pumps, refrigeration units, servers, chargers or multiple electrical appliances.
AI Smart Mode automatically optimises charging and discharging. The system creates hourly schedules based on electricity prices, weather data and consumption patterns. This enables it to take advantage of cheaper charging times, prioritise solar power and supply energy when it is most needed in the household.
Dynamic electricity tariffs are also supported. The SolarVault 3 Pro can respond to electricity prices from many European suppliers and automatically charge when electricity is cheaper. When prices are higher or consumption increases, stored energy can be used to reduce the amount of electricity drawn from the grid.
The installation is designed for ease of use. The system follows a plug-and-play concept and can be connected to existing solar installations or the home’s electrical circuit. This is particularly attractive to many users as it requires no extensive rewiring or complicated setup.
A comprehensive safety concept ensures reliable operation. Among other things, the SolarVault 3 Pro monitors the temperature of the PV and grid connection terminals. If overheating is detected, the system automatically stops operation and sends a warning via the app. Once safe conditions are restored, operation can resume.
In addition, the system features an integrated aerosol fire suppression system, multi-tiered battery management and high-quality LFP battery cells. This cell technology is renowned for its high safety standards, stable performance and long service life. Jackery provides a 10-year warranty for the system and states that it is designed for a 15-year service life.
Connection and control are handled flexibly via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet. Ethernet ensures a stable connection regardless of Wi-Fi fluctuations, whilst Bluetooth also enables local offline functions. Settings, operating data, charging schedules and energy flows can be conveniently monitored via the app.
The SolarVault 3 Pro is also compatible with various smart meters, smart plugs and smart home solutions. These include official Jackery smart meters as well as selected third-party solutions such as Shelly, Everhome, HomeWizard and Home Assistant. This allows the system to be better integrated into existing energy management set-ups.
