The Könner & Söhnen KS 3000PS portable power station is a powerful 3-in-1 power solution that combines a pure sine wave inverter, an MPPT solar charge controller and a 3.2 kWh LiFePO4 battery in a single portable unit. The model is designed for off-grid power supply for homes, offices, workshops, businesses, holiday homes, field work and backup power during prolonged power cuts.
The station has a rated power of 3000 W, making it suitable for a much wider range of users than compact portable charging stations. It can be used to power computers, routers, communication systems, lighting, televisions, fridges, pumps, boilers, office equipment, tools, chargers and other equipment within the permissible load limits.
The Könner & Söhnen KS 3000PS is based on a LiFePO4 battery with a capacity of 3200 Wh. The battery capacity is also specified as 125 Ah, and the battery’s nominal voltage is 25.6 V. This energy reserve allows the station to be used not only as an emergency backup but also as a fully-fledged component of a hybrid power supply system.
Lithium iron phosphate technology is well suited for long-term operation. The battery has a lifespan of up to 6,000 cycles under conditions of 0.2 C charging and 0.5 C discharging at 80% DOD. It is also rated for up to 4,000 cycles at a 0.5 C charge and 0.5 C discharge rate at 80% DOD. This makes the KS 3000PS a practical solution for users who plan to use the station regularly at home, in business, or in an off-grid system.
One of the model’s key advantages is the UPS function. In the event of a mains power failure, the unit automatically switches the load to the battery. The switchover time is 10 ms in UPS mode or 20 ms in VDE4105, Home and GEN modes. This is important for equipment where sudden power cuts are undesirable: computers, network equipment, CCTV systems, alarms, server or office equipment.
The unit produces a pure sine wave, making it suitable for sensitive electronics, power supplies, pumps, boilers, equipment with electric motors, and devices requiring a stable output voltage waveform. The inverter’s output voltage is 230 V ± 5%, and the frequency is 50 Hz ± 0.2.
Four 230 V Schuko sockets and a rear terminal are provided for connecting AC devices. This is convenient for scenarios where several devices need to be powered simultaneously or where the unit needs to be integrated into a more complex backup power system. The current at the AC outputs is rated up to 120 A.
For DC devices, the model has two 12 V DC5521 outputs. For charging mobile electronics, there are four USB Type-A 5 V/2 A ports and one USB Type-C 5 V/2 A port. This range of outputs allows you to connect household appliances, electronics, lighting, network equipment and mobile devices simultaneously.
The Könner & Söhnen KS 3000PS supports four power supply and charging methods: mains, solar panels, an external battery and a DC generator. This hybrid design makes the station significantly more flexible than a standard charging station, as it can function as the central element of an off-grid power system.
An MPPT controller is used for solar charging. The MPPT voltage range is 30–128 V, the maximum DC open-circuit voltage is 160 V, and the maximum PV charging current is 60 A. The maximum MPPT efficiency reaches 98%, which helps to make the most efficient use of the energy from the solar panels.
The station supports fast solar charging to 80% in approximately 1 hour under suitable conditions. This is a significant advantage for off-grid use, as the user can quickly replenish energy reserves from the sun and reduce dependence on the mains supply.
Another strong point of the model is the 24V DC output for a generator or an additional battery. The KS 3000PS is compatible with the Tandem Power system and can operate alongside the KS 24VS-DC, KS 24VGS-DC and KS 24VM-DC DC generators. When the battery charge drops, a compatible generator can start automatically, operate at high efficiency and switch off once the station is recharged.
The ability to connect additional batteries and DC generators allows for the creation of a scalable hybrid system. This is useful for private homes, small businesses, workshops, offices, facilities with critical equipment, or locations where power cuts may last for a long time.
For mains charging, the station uses a nominal input voltage of 230 V, and the AC input voltage range is 90–280 V. The AC charging current is 16 A. This wide range allows the station to operate more stably in conditions of an unstable mains supply.
The station’s efficiency is 90%. This means that the model makes effective use of stored energy and is well suited for prolonged autonomous operation. This is important for a system of this class, as every percentage point of efficiency affects the actual runtime of connected devices.
The LCD display allows you to monitor the station’s operating parameters. It is convenient for keeping track of the power status, battery charge, operating modes and other important indicators. A connection to a PC via a USB cable is also provided, expanding the possibilities for monitoring and configuration.
The station features overload and overheating protection. This is important for safe operation under high loads, particularly when several devices are connected to the power station simultaneously or when it is used as a backup power source for critical systems.
Despite its high power and capacity, the KS 3000PS remains a portable solution. The casing is fitted with wheels and handles for transport, making it easier to move the unit around a home, office, workshop or warehouse, or to transport it between different locations. The net dimensions are 445×280×510 mm, and the net weight is 37 kg.
The kit includes the power station itself, a 230 V mains cable, a USB cable for connecting to a PC, 2 Quick Plug connectors, 2 MC4 connectors and an instruction manual. This configuration helps you get the station up and running more quickly with the mains, solar panels or additional system components.
The Könner & Söhnen KS 3000PS portable power station is the solution for those who need not just a charging station, but a flexible energy hub. It combines 3000 W of power, a 3200 Wh LiFePO4 battery with a lifespan of up to 6000 cycles, UPS, MPPT, pure sine wave, 4 x 230 V sockets, Tandem Power support, the ability to operate with a DC generator and additional batteries, an LCD display, and wheels and handles for easy transport.
